Constitution of the State of Mississippi – Article 12. Franchise
Article 12 of the Constitution of the State of Mississippi defines who may or may not vote in the state. Adopted in 1890, this state constitution required payment of poll taxes and passage of literacy tests before citizens could exercise their right to vote.
