Organizing to End Bullying

In this lesson, students use word work and engaging videos to learn about Jaylen Arnold, a young boy with Tourette syndrome, and how he has overcome bullying by children who did not understand his condition. Students will create posters to help communicate Jaylen's message and develop guidelines for how they can celebrate diversity and reduce bullying in their school.

Graphics Class Offers Success for All

Working in an urban high school has many challenges. My first computer graphics class was no exception. The computers were old PCs and the software was a pared-down version of a program that had failed to meet standards of the graphic design industry. My class contained a mix of special education students and youths with a reputation for disrupting classrooms.
