Dr. Kathy Swan is a professor of curriculum and instruction at the University of Kentucky. Swan has been a four-time recipient of the National Technology Leadership Award in Social Studies Education, innovating with web-based interactive technology curricula including the Historical Scene Investigation Project and Digital Docs in a Box. She is co-author of the book And Action! Doing Documentaries in the Social Studies Classroom and children’s series Thinking Like A Citizen and co-editor of the book, Teaching the C3 Framework: A Guide to Inquiry Based Instruction in the Social Studies. She is also the co-founder of C3 Teachers.
Dr. Swan served as the project director and lead writer of the College, Career, and Civic Life Framework for Social Studies State Standards and was a project director on the New York Social Studies Toolkit. Over the past two years, Dr. Swan has written the economics binder for the DBQ project and co-authored book, Inquiry-Based Practice in Social Studies Education: Understanding the Inquiry Design Model.

Dr. John Lee is Interim Head and Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences in the College of Education at North Carolina State University. He was an author of the College, Career and Civic Life Framework for Standards in Social Studies and is a founder and co-director of the C3 Teachers project. He develops innovative digital historical resources through the Digital History and Pedagogy Project. He has authored or co-authored several books books including: Inquiry-based Practice in Social Studies Education: The Inquiry Design Model; Teaching Social Studies: A Methods Book for Methods Teachers; Teaching the C3 Framework; Visualizing Elementary Social Studies Methods; Research on Technology in Social Studies; and Guiding Learning with Technology.

Dr. S.G. Grant has been a professor of Social Studies Education at Binghamton University since 2008. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Maine and his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. He has worked as a high school social studies teacher in the state of Maine and as consultant in the Maine Department of Education and as a professor at the University at Buffalo.
