Sarah Sansbury is a middle and high school English teacher in Georgia. She graduated from the Honors Program at Augusta State University with a bachelor's degree in English education and later completed her master's in curriculum and instruction.

Julie is an educator and curriculum writer in California. She recently received the Distinguished Award for Teaching Fulbright and researched and taught in England where she developed a curriculum entitled No One Is From Here, about immigration.

Dr. Brittney Beck is an assistant professor of teacher education at California State University, Bakersfield and a Faculty Fellow with the Kegley Institute of Ethics. Her teaching and research focus on preparing educators to design curricula and pedagogies that foster social emotional learning, ethical reasoning and democratic competency. Marcy is a middle and high school Spanish teacher at Watkinson School in Hartford, Connecticut. During a seven-year hiatus from teaching she served as a college admissions counselor and earned her M.Ed. in curriculum. Beyond the campus, she delivers workshops at regional and national professional conferences, where she applies her training as a Critical Friendship coach and facilitator.

Melinda D. Anderson is an education writer in Washington, D.C. with special interest in race, class, educational equity and educational justice. She is a founding member of EduColor, an inclusive collective of educators, parents, students, writers and activists that cultivates and promotes diverse voices in the public education conversation and policymaking process. Stephen Wesson is an educational resource specialist at the Library of Congress, where he helps develop teacher resources and online programs that promote the effective use of the Library’s collections and expertise. A veteran of educational media, before coming to the Library he managed print and online programs for a number of educational companies and organizations.

Alice Pettway is the author of four collections of poetry: Dawn Chorus (2023), Station Lights (2021), Moth (2019), and The Time of Hunger (2017). Her work, which spans poetry, non-fiction, and fiction, has appeared in AGNI, Learning for Justice magazine, Rattle, The Progressive, The Southern Review, The Threepenny Review and many other respected publications. She is a former Chulitna Artist Fellow and Art Omi: Writers resident. Currently, Pettway lives and writes near Seattle, Washington.

Darnell Fine is a classroom teacher and writer whose work focuses on questions of power and critical thought. He facilitates creative writing seminars and social justice workshops nationally and internationally. An educator by trade, he applies radical imagination to the profession of teaching. He seeks to empower his students and encourages them to transform society into a more just place. Darnell was also a 2012 recipient of the Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Cullturally Responsive Teaching.
