For the last 12 years, Michelle Garcia has been an educator and policy advisor on issues of social justice and civil rights. In Boston, as Associate Regional Director at the New England Office of the Anti-Defamation League, she worked on anti-bias education and municipal anti-hate programs. Michelle began her career designing and implementing classroom-based interventions for underserved high school students in Southern California, after which she spent five years with the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission as a Policy Advisor specializing in youth policy and programs. Louise Rocha-McCarthy is an interpreter for the Portland (Maine) public schools and area agencies. She translates legal documents for attorneys and has worked as an interpreter for the courts, hospitals and social service agencies in Portland.

Sarah Sansbury is a middle and high school English teacher in Georgia. She graduated from the Honors Program at Augusta State University with a bachelor's degree in English education and later completed her master's in curriculum and instruction.

Julie is an educator and curriculum writer in California. She recently received the Distinguished Award for Teaching Fulbright and researched and taught in England where she developed a curriculum entitled No One Is From Here, about immigration.

Dr. Brittney Beck is an assistant professor of teacher education at California State University, Bakersfield and a Faculty Fellow with the Kegley Institute of Ethics. Her teaching and research focus on preparing educators to design curricula and pedagogies that foster social emotional learning, ethical reasoning and democratic competency.
