Jey is the program manager for school partnerships with Learning for Justice. They have previously worked as an elementary school special educator in Portland Public Schools in Oregon and as a writer. Jey is a contributing author in the book Gender Diversity and LGBTQ Inclusion and Advocacy in Schools.

Caitlin George is a high school English for speakers of other languages and journalism teacher in South Carolina. She earned bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish and a master’s degree in English education from the University of Georgia. She also has a specialist's degree in curriculum & instruction from Valdosta State University.

With the help of three others, Laurie created Mindful Schools, a vibrant organization that has trained over 300,000 teachers and students in the last 10 years. In 2014, she joined the team at Inner Explorer to spread mindfulness to schools. In 2016, New Harbinger published a book she wrote with fifth-graders in East Oakland called Master of Mindfulness: How to Be Your Own Superhero in Times of Stress.

Emily Kissner teaches fourth grade in rural Pennsylvania. In her 15 years of teaching, she has worked in preschool, middle school and elementary school. She is the author of the Heinemann books Summarizing, Paraphrasing, and Retelling and The Forest AND the Trees: Helping Readers Find Details in Texts and Tests.

Marvin Lynn is Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Maryland at College Park where he founded and currently heads a graduate program in Minority & Urban Education. Having published in several well-respected academic journals, including Teachers College Record, Educational Theory, Qualitative Studies in Education, Equity & Excellence in Education, Urban Education, Educational Philosophy and Theory & Review of Research in Education, he has emerged as one of the leaders of the field of critical race studies in education.
