Margaret joined Teaching Tolerance as an intern and later became the Teaching Tolerance fellow. Sasser's work was integral to the development and maintenance of Perspectives for a Diverse America in her role as a research associate.

Sue Carloni is a freelance writer living in Wisconsin. She's had articles, essays, stories and poems published in over 50 magazines for both children and adults.

Joseph Flynn is an assistant professor in curriculum and instruction in Illinois. His work focuses on middle school, multicultural and social justice education, and media.

Since 2011, Jill Davidson has worked as the Director of Publications and Communications at Educators for Social Responsibility, which collaborates with middle and high schools to provide professional development and resources grounded in the values of equity, community, and democracy. Before ESR, she worked for over a decade in a variety of roles at the Coalition of Essential Schools. Jill lives in Providence, RI. As the mother of three sons in public schools, she advocates for family-school involvement to support school success for all young people.

Sandra Wozniak recently retired from teaching after 33 years at the Mt. Olive Middle School in New Jersey. There, she developed and implemented coursework integrating critical thinking and technology. Sandra currently works with schools throughout the United States helping students learn how to think, not what to think. In 2010, she was honored as NJ Middle Level Educator of the Year.

Michele Israel owns Educational Writing & Consulting (www.micheleisrael.com), where she works with large and small educational, non-profit and media organizations to bolster products and programs. Her rich career spans over 25 years of successfully developing educational materials and resources, designing and facilitating training, generating communication materials and grant proposals, and assisting in organizational and program development. Sarah Shear is an assistant professor at Penn State University-Altoona, where she teaches courses on social studies education and education foundations. Sarah earned her doctorate in learning, teaching and curriculum from the University of Missouri in 2014 with an emphasis in social studies education and indigenous studies. Her primary research focuses on teaching and learning K-12 social studies within indigenous contexts, including work with social studies educators in New Mexico and Oklahoma. Sarah's other research includes examining race and settler colonialism in K-12 social studies

Dave lives with his wife and daughter in San Jose, California. He holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon and has spent the last ten years working as a magazine editor, freelance writer and photographer.
