Chris is a seventh-grade U.S. history teacher in the Washington, D.C., area. He is continuously working to design a curriculum that is anti-racist, anti-sexist and pro-social justice. In addition to teaching, Seeger is a doctoral student at George Mason University. His research is focused on how teachers adapt their curriculum and teaching to achieve equity-related goals in high-poverty schools.
Sara is an educational consultant with over 20 years of experience in K-12 education. Her work in social justice and anti-bias education includes expertise in literacy instruction, equity and diversity and inclusive practice, teacher mentoring, professional development, curriculum design and educational publishing. Wicht is the former senior manager of teaching and learning for Teaching Tolerance.
Clio Stearns has been teaching for 12 years, mainly working with elementary school students and focusing on appreciating everyone’s different perspective.
Lauryn has over 10 years experience as an elementary classroom teacher, literacy instructional coach and culturally responsive trainer. She was formerly a teaching and learning specialist with Teaching Tolerance. She holds a bachelor's degree in American Studies and a master's of education degree in culturally responsive teaching, both from the University of Colorado. She is currently working on her doctorate in education at Vanderbilt University. Lauryn has a passion for educating teachers on engagement strategies and is particularly interested in closing the opportunity gap for young males
Lauren has been an educator since 2000 and has served as a diversity coordinator and a grade-level team leader. She consults with teachers and administrators on designing curriculum and professional development. Porosoff is the lead author of Curriculum at Your Core: Meaningful Teaching in the Age of Standards, EMPOWER Your Students: Tools to Inspire a Meaningful School Experience, and Two-for-One Teaching: Connecting Instruction to Student Values.
