Dr. Mikki Shaw has worked in education for over 40 years, as a high school teacher and as a teacher educator. She has a deep commitment to public education and to students at risk.

While attending school full-time, Jessica teaches undergraduate classes and facilitates pre-service teachers' field-experience work in local public schools. She frequently presents at conferences and is conducting an ongoing research project with a high school social studies teacher. Kobe is also a teacher consultant for the Red Clay Writing Project (a local branch of the National Writing Project).

David Knight teaches at Boston Arts Academy, a public school for the visual and performing arts. Previously, he taught middle and high school humanities in Boston and San Francisco and also has experience in youth development. A graduate of Dartmouth, Stanford and Harvard, David writes on issues related to race, adolescent development and teaching for social justice.

Cheryl Lederle is an Educational Resource Specialist at the Library of Congress, where she develops classroom materials and works with teachers to incorporate the Library’s digitized primary sources into high-quality instruction. Before coming to the Library, Cheryl taught English and writing at the high school and community college levels.

Rick Mula is an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the Southern Poverty Law Center. The aim of Rick’s fellowship project is to reduce the discrimination that LGBT youth living in Tennessee and Alabama experience in the education, child welfare and juvenile justice systems. His fellowship is sponsored by the Mansfield Family Foundation. Rick graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2015 where he received a graduate certificate in gender, sexuality and women’s studies. Rick was also awarded the Dean Jefferson B. Fordham Human Rights Award and the Blank Rome Alvin Ackerman

Dana Compton McCullough is a biology teacher at Evans High School in Evans, Georgia. She has taught middle school science and language arts, 5th grade science, math, and language arts, and various high school science classes for 23 years in Columbia County, Georgia. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Augusta State University and Master’s Degree in Biology from Georgia Southern University. Her research and teaching interests include teaching science for social justice and Freirean approaches to teaching and learning.
