Fannie Lou Hamer, Rosa Parks, and Coretta Scott King Voting Rights Act Reauthorization and Amendments Act of 2006
This 2006 act reauthorized and amended the Voting Rights Act of 1965, acknowledging the progress made towards ensuring the right to vote for all citizens while also working to address continued obstacles for voters, especially minority voters. Since 1965, the Voting Rights Act has continued to be reauthorized and updated to ensure the right to vote for all citizens.
