Letter from Randa Jo Downs to the Voices of Civil Rights Project
Randa Jo Downs’ letter describes her father’s work investigating hospitals for Title VI violations after the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as well as her experiences accompanying him on one of his trips to Little Rock, Arkansas. Her letter highlights the processes that the Civil Rights Act created for investigating civil rights violations and the areas in which it was applied.
