What the International Response to the Civil Rights Movement Tells us about Ferguson.

This article in Time magazine from 2014 looks at how the United States was viewed as hypocritical in its public espousal of freedom and egalitarianism in the international arena while all the while subjecting its Black citizens to the most heinous forms of racial discrimination at home during the 1960s; in apropos of the forgoing, it then compares that to the continued trend by the United States of public touting of liberty and justice abroad but rampant police brutality on Black citizens domestically, namely for this article, Michael Brown’s killing in Ferguson is the focus.
