Below are some follow-up activities you can use to build on the momentum of Mix it Up at Lunch Day.
- Have participants make a list of five or more people with whom they usually interact during their daily or weekly routine outside of school. Challenge them to explain Mix It Up at Lunch Day to each of those people, and share one thing they learned during Mix It Up at Lunch Day.
- Have participants brainstorm a list of five places other than the cafeteria where they could mix it up. Encourage them to make a plan to mix it up in those places and take pictures of themselves with the new people they meet.
- Have students and teachers who participated in Mix It Up at Lunch Day create a mural or collage based on their experiences talking with and learning from new people.
