He is a distinguished professor in the School of Government at American University in Washington, DC, and a professor of history at the University of Virginia.

Montana writer and poet Jennifer Greene was teaching college students before she got her first real look at the history of the Flathead Reservation and how her ancestors, the Bitteroot Salish people, came to live there. In her fiction and poetry — including this story — she often puts herself in the place of those ancestors, recreating their voices.

Vishavjit Singh is a cartoonist, writer, performance artist and creator of Sikhtoons.com based in New York City. He is a public speaker expounding on diversity, inclusion, storytelling and power of art in schools, universities and companies across the nation. He is also a Creative Arts and Diversity Fellow at Washington DC based Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund.

Nel Noddings is currently the Jacks Professor Emeriti of Child Education at Stanford University; she also holds the John W. Porter Chair in Urban Education at Eastern Michigan University. From 1949 to 1972, Noddings worked as an elementary and high school teacher and administrator in New Jersey public schools. During that time, she conducted research in mathematics education, though she later changed her focus to the broader realm of educational theory and philosophy. Joi Miner has been writing for as long as she can remember, but began her career as a spoken word artist. After making it to the finals in the Turner South “My South Speaks” competition, she appeared in a commercial and won slams at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and the Green Mill in Chicago.
