Lisa Glenn graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a degree in Psychology. While at college, she participated heavily in BSC's service-learning initiatives through service-learning coursework, local service activities, and month-long service trips. Lisa was awarded a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study in South Africa, where she taught 7th–9th grade technology and also earned a B.Ed. Honours degree in Human Rights Education at University of the Witwatersrand. After returning from South Africa, Lisa left her home in the South and moved West, where she taught 6th grade in Phoenix

Turner is an international literacy coach. She is now based in Malaysia, teaching first grade.

Gary R. Howard has 35 years of experience working with issues of civil rights, social justice, equity, education and diversity. His most recent book, We Can't Teach What We Don't Know (Second Edition, 2006), was published by Columbia University and is considered a groundbreaking examination of privilege, power and the role of white leaders and educators in a multicultural society.

Christina Torres is an English teacher at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. A graduate of the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University, she previously taught for two years in Los Angeles. Thom Ronk is a multicultural educator with more than 20 years experience in corporate, government and non-profit educational programs. He has facilitated students’ and teachers’ learning throughout the United States as well as in China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Turkey. He has extensive experience writing and developing print- and Web-based curriculum materials, and he’s the primary author of Essay Writing for High School Students: A Step-by-Step Guide (Kaplan Publishing, 3rd Edition, 2006). Rebecca VanderMeulen is a freelance writer in Exton, Pennsylvania. She is an M.Ed. candidate in School Counseling at West Chester University.

Laura Sofen is a middle school writing teacher in Sparta, N.J. She is also a holistic health coach with a master's degree in teaching.

Lisa Ann Williamson is associate editor at Teaching Tolerance. Before coming to SPLC, she worked as a multimedia journalist. Her jobs at newspapers in Iowa, Michigan and New York included covering crime, education, theater and religion stories. Williamson also taught college courses in journalism, literature and interpersonal communication. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a major in theater and earned her masters at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Amanda Morris is an Associate Professor of writing and rhetoric at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Her scholarship and much of her public writing and speaking engagements focus on contemporary Indigenous rhetorics. Her academic writing can be found in Rhetoric Review, Epiphany, WSQ, Journal of American Culture, Enthymema, South Atlantic Review, and the books Stand Up Comedy and Rhetoric (Routledge, 2016) and Decolonizing Native American Rhetoric: Communicating Self-Determination (Peter Lang, 2018).
