As Managing Director of Programs at the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding, Mark E. Fowler is responsible for program development, project management and the expansion of Tanenbaum programs nationally and internationally. Mark is a skilled facilitator/trainer who worked at the Anti-Defamation League on prejudice reduction, conflict resolution and reducing bias, and bullying programming. Annie Huynh is a graduate of Temple University with a master’s degree in elementary education. She teaches at the Folk Art – Cultural Treasures Charter School (FACTS) in Philadelphia, Pa., where her areas of focus include literacy, social studies and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). Her passion lies in equitable education for immigrant students. Additionally, she develops social studies curriculum, and is a member of Teachers Lead Philly and Teacher Action Group for the advancement of the teaching profession. Jasmine Evans is a freelance writer from the San Francisco Bay Area with experience as a college counselor and English teacher. She writes education articles for parents, students, and educators. She’s currently working on her MFA in English & Creative Writing at Mills College with the hopes of writing novels for young adults in the future.

Welcoming Schools offers tools, lessons and resources to help educators embrace family diversity, avoid gender stereotypes, and end bullying and name-calling in elementary schools. The organization also offers resources for school administrators and educators to support students who don't conform to gender norms. It was initiated by a group of parents and educators to meet the needs of students whose family structures are not well represented or included in school environments.
