Originally from Greenwich, Connecticut, Spezzano holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. She taught pre-K for five years, in addition to one year of special education. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in order to pursue a Master's degree in Elementary Education. After finishing her program, she spent time in a first-grade classroom before accepting a full time Kindergarten position for the 2018–19 school year.

Joy Masha (she/her) is a program manager at the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools, where she is dedicated to building family-school-community partnerships. Joy is at the forefront of transformative change in Washington, D.C., where she is dedicated to organizing and collaborating with parents and practitioners. Her mission is to dismantle normative narratives that hinder family success and well-being. Joy envisions a world where liberatory learning and engagement are accessible to all parents and families, as well as professionals and practitioners.

Kevin Cordi is a professional storyteller, assistant professor at Ohio University Lancaster, author, and past advisor for Secret Kindness Agents and “The Wonder Team,” based on the book Wonder. He serves on the Teaching Tolerance Advisory Board. He is the author of You Don’t Know Jack: Storyteller Goes to School (March 2019) and Playing With Stories: Story Crafting for Writers, Teachers, and other Imaginative Thinkers (2014).
