Christopher Greenslate

Christopher Greenslate is a humanities teacher at High Tech High School in San Diego, California. Known for both his work as a Social Justice and Journalism educator, he has advised over 200 student activist projects over the last few years and is the co-author of "On a Dollar a Day: One Couple's Unlikely Adventures in Eating in America" which focuses on issues of food justice. His writing has been published by Green Teacher magazine and The New York Times, and he is currently serving on the Board of Advisors at the Institute for Humane Education.

Annie Huynh

Annie Huynh is a graduate of Temple University with a master’s degree in elementary education. She teaches at the Folk Art – Cultural Treasures Charter School (FACTS) in Philadelphia, Pa., where her areas of focus include literacy, social studies and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). News Consumers' Bill of Rights and Responsibilities

This lesson focuses on PEN America's News Consumers' Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. Students will read the bill of rights, rephrase some of the rights and responsibilities, and rank the rights in order of importance. Finally, students will work together to construct a short dramatic skit that shows the significance of one right of their choosing.
