LFJ is piloting our Community Justice Sites programming at the SPLC’s Road to 60 Summit in Mississippi. Our Community Justice Sites are Freedom Schools and Citizenship Schools for everyone. When we “learn for justice,” we center learning to inform our action for liberation and justice in our communities.
During this back-to-school season, let’s support the education and well-being of all young people. Learning for Justice offers new and updated education justice resources with research-based practices that benefit all students and help ensure more inclusive public schools that foster excellence and equity. Education justice is crucial if we are to achieve a thriving multiracial democracy.

Teaching children empathy that leads to justice means much more than teaching kindness. Adults—educators, parents and caregivers—who support young learners have the opportunity to create “culture[s] of justice” in which empathy and justice are the priority. These LFJ resources feature strategies that educators, parents and caregivers can use to actively engage little learners as they develop age-appropriate skills and understanding that will lead them forward in the pursuit of justice.
