Margarita Bauzá Wagerson is a freelance writer for Teaching Tolerance. She has 15 years of daily newspaper writing experience in Michigan, 10 of those in Detroit, where she wrote about education, transportation and jobs. She has been a staff writer at the Lansing State Journal, Grand Rapids Press, the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press. A native of Puerto Rico, she is a graduate of Michigan State University and a former board member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Her freelance work focuses on education and health care.

Marcos Torres teaches and lives in Corona, California. He has taught for nearly a decade and currently teaches 9th-grade Language Arts and AVID at Corona High School. He is also the single-father of Phaedra and Isaiah.

Louise Rocha-McCarthy is an interpreter for the Portland (Maine) public schools and area agencies. She translates legal documents for attorneys and has worked as an interpreter for the courts, hospitals and social service agencies in Portland.

Ann, author of the Teaching Tolerance story " SWOOSH!" has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is the author of over 30 books for children and teens.

Nancy Erbe is an associate professor of negotiation, conflict resolution and peacebuilding at California State University Dominguez Hills and author of Holding These Truths: Empowerment and Recognition in Action: Interactive Case Study Curriculum for Multicultural Dispute Resolution

Steffany Sorensen Moyer is the program coordinator at Learning for Justice. Prior to joining LFJ, she worked at a public library for several years, and is currently completing her master’s degree in secondary education from Auburn University Montgomery.

Louis Cozolino, PhD, is a professor of psychology at Pepperdine University and a private practitioner. He is the author of The Healthy Aging Brain, The Neuroscience of Psychotherapy, and The Making of a Therapist. He lives in Los Angeles, California.

Elizabeth is a former high school English teacher and a Ph.D. candidate in curriculum, teaching and teacher education at the University of Florida. She currently supervises pre-service teachers and teaches courses on practitioner inquiry and the history of education.

Gregg Barrios taught in the Crystal City schools for 10 years. Since then he has been a successful journalist for the Los Angeles Times and more recently was book editor of the San Antonio Express-News. He is now a full-time playwright.

Mitali Perkins was born in India and immigrated to the United States with her family when she was 6 years old. She is the author of two novels, as well as many short stories and essays about life between cultures.
