Julie Weiss is an education writer with a commitment to social justice. She holds a Ph.D. in American studies, has taught at the college level and now develops curricula, textbook materials and assessments.

Margarita Bauzá Wagerson is a freelance writer for Teaching Tolerance. She has 15 years of daily newspaper writing experience in Michigan, 10 of those in Detroit, where she wrote about education, transportation and jobs. She has been a staff writer at the Lansing State Journal, Grand Rapids Press, the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press. A native of Puerto Rico, she is a graduate of Michigan State University and a former board member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Her freelance work focuses on education and health care.

An Atlanta native, Andrew Aydin currently serves in Representative John Lewis’ Washington D.C. office handling telecommunications and technology policy, as well as new media. Previously, he served as communications director and press secretary during Lewis’ 2008 and 2010 re-election campaigns, as district aide to Representative John Larson, and as special assistant to Connecticut Lt. Governor Kevin Sullivan. Aydin is a graduate of The Lovett School in Atlanta, Trinity College in Hartford and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He is the co-author of John Lewis’ graphic novel, March.

Rania Saeb teaches in the General Education Department at West Coast University, serves as an examiner for the International Baccalaureate and occasionally supervises teacher candidates at California State University, San Marcos. She previously taught for several years at the American International School of Kuwait. She received her Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership through the Joint Doctoral Program through the University of California San Diego and California State University, San Marcos.
