Melinda D. Anderson is an education writer in Washington, D.C. with special interest in race, class, educational equity and educational justice. She is a founding member of EduColor, an inclusive collective of educators, parents, students, writers and activists that cultivates and promotes diverse voices in the public education conversation and policymaking process. Breeanna is a Massachusetts history teacher who currently works as the outreach specialist at Boston University’s African Studies Center. She is an educator with a global focus whose work meets at the crossroads of equity in educational opportunities and African studies. Elliott has taught internationally and domestically, and she advocates for rigorous, interdisciplinary education approaches as a means to encourage intercommunal understanding, empathy and global citizenship. She has spent much of her adult life traveling in East Africa and working in African studies.

Colleen is the associate professor of non-Western literatures and the director of Women's and Gender Studies at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Her academic work has been published in Feminist Formations and Journal of Postcolonial Writing. Marisa Fasciano is an Education Program Associate at the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding. She earned a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Chicago in 1992 and worked for numerous years as a social science researcher, evaluating the effectiveness of large-scale education, health, and welfare programs. Since earning her Master of Social Work from Adelphi University in 2006, she specializes in diversity and peace education.

Sara is an educational consultant with over 20 years of experience in K-12 education. Her work in social justice and anti-bias education includes expertise in literacy instruction, equity and diversity and inclusive practice, teacher mentoring, professional development, curriculum design and educational publishing. Wicht is the former senior manager of teaching and learning for Teaching Tolerance.

For the past eight years, Hayley Breden has taught social studies courses at Denver South High School. Hayley attended Lawrence University, a liberal arts college in Wisconsin, to earn her B.A. in history with minors in ethnic studies and environmental studies, along with her teaching license. She earned an M.A. in Educational Foundations, Policy, and Practice from CU-Boulder in 2016. Breden completed her student teaching at a public high school on Chicago’s South Side. Anne Savage is an Educational Resource Specialist at the Library of Congress, where she develops and delivers professional development, as well as creates classroom materials. Before coming to the Library, she was an elementary teacher and school-based technology specialist in Fairfax County, Virginia, and a programming manager of educational Web content at a large corporation.
